Percussion Ensemble from Hellemmes - France has announced their 2012 production 'Prism'. The musical programme has been composed by Tony Nunez and Kevin Shah (working at the Arcadia High School and South Hill High School in the US).
The visual designer of this new show is Benoit Sueur. The group made great progression over the last months with the help of several French and British instructors. Unik Star will use new drumline instruments from Dynasty for this new winter season 2012. The show is entitled 'Prism'. In optics, a prism is a transparent optical element with flat, polished surfaces that refract light. A triangular prism, dispersing light; waves shown to illustrate the differing wavelengths of light.
The show theme can be used in different ways. Prisms can be used to reflect light, or to split light into components with different polarizations. But a prism can be also used to break light up into its constituent spectral colours.
- DADIZELE - The percussion ensemble from Dadizele is celebrating its 30 year's anniversary with a great musical theater show. This show is the apotheose of a great year of celebration activities. On this occassion DrumSpirit's home base facilities will completely be transformed into a theater hall.
This is not the debute of DrumSpirit in theater. In 2006, more than 1000 spectators came to enjoy their production 'Seasense, Four Seasons in One Day'. The show also formed the basis of their 'Illuminations, Reflections of the Earth' indoor show that was awarded with several European titles.
Even more extreme?
The last years have been very fruitfull to invest in quality products and 'breed' quality people. As a result this year's 'Theater show' could be completely designed and composed in-house: DrumSpirit's know how is ready to be exposed in a 'tsunami' spectacle of sound and light.
For this showcase DrumSpirit has been looking across het borders of 'classical' percussion and music design and nothing will be as you expect. Percussion is the core of this production but be prepared for strongly flavored and colored spirits...something not to miss!
Three performances are planned and tickets are available from today on. Seats € 12.50 in advance, € 15.00 at the door. Don't wait, tickets sell like hot cakes!

New in 2012! IPE is presenting three Junior Indoor Percussion Units at the IPE European Championships. Auranja Juniors, Uniks Star Juniors (FRA) and The Senators Juniors (UK) are performing for the very first time on a European Indoor Percussion Circuit. It's all about the kids this winter!!!
